# Glossary

> Definitions for common Strawberry terms such as companions, routines, credits, memory, skills, plans, profiles, and work traces.

## Companion

An AI assistant profile in Strawberry. A companion can chat with you, use tools, remember context, hold files, run routines, and have companion-specific skills.

## Chat

A conversation with a companion. Chats can include attached files, selected tabs, queued follow-ups, work traces, generated files, and sub-agent activity.

## Agent run

A companion task that uses tools or takes multi-step actions, such as reading pages, searching, writing files, using connected apps, or spawning sub-agents.

## Sub-agent

A focused helper agent spawned by a main companion to work on a scoped task. Sub-agents can have their own `PLAN.md` and work trace.

## Routine

An automation that runs on a schedule or app event. Routines are managed per companion and on the full `strawberry://routines` page.

## Skill

Reusable instructions for a kind of work. Skills can be global to your profile or specific to one companion.

## Memory

Stable information Strawberry saves so companions can use it later. Memory can include preferences, company context, workflow notes, and other durable facts.

## Knowledge

The `strawberry://knowledge` page that gathers use case templates, memory, reports, skills, and transcriptions.

## Credits

The usage unit for AI work in Strawberry. Browsing without companion help does not consume credits. Companion replies, agent runs, web research, app actions, and transcription-related AI work can consume credits.

## Credit account

A separate personal or team credit balance. One credit account is active at a time, and new AI work uses that account. Switching credit accounts does not transfer or combine their balances. "Billing account" is the internal term for the underlying billing record.

## Top-up credits

Prepaid extra credits. Top-up credits are used after included monthly credits run out and do not expire at month end.

## Profile

A browser profile with its own browsing data and many profile-specific settings, such as integrations and workspace files.

## Team workspace

A shared synced folder created for team members. Strawberry shows the exact local path in the team workspace and companion filesystem context.

## Work trace

The visible record of what a companion or sub-agent did during a task, including searches, file operations, app tool calls, browser actions, questions, and progress.
