Strawberry supports normal browser tab workflows, plus AI-aware sidebars that help you move between pages, chats, and companion work.

Tab layouts

Open strawberry://settings/theme to choose a tab layout:
  • Tabs at top: a familiar horizontal tab bar.
  • Tabs in sidebar: vertical tabs with manual ordering.
  • Activity sidebar: tabs ordered by recent activity, with a search row that opens Universal Search for tabs and chats.

Chat sidebar

Press Cmd/Ctrl + E to toggle the chat sidebar. Use it to start chats, revisit previous sessions, check running routines, and open companion work. Routines can appear in the sidebar when they are scheduled, running, listening, or need your input. Press Cmd + Shift + A on macOS or Ctrl + Shift + A on Windows. Universal Search helps you find:
  • Open tabs
  • Recent tabs
  • Chats
  • Sidebar history
Use chips to filter to tabs or chats. Click an active chip again to return to all results.

Bookmarks

Open bookmark settings at strawberry://settings/bookmarks. You can:
  • Show the bookmarks bar always, only on the new tab page, or never.
  • Search and manage bookmark folders.
  • Right-click a tab to add or move it to a bookmark folder.
  • Use the bookmark manager shortcut: Cmd + Option + B on macOS or Ctrl + Shift + O on Windows.

Picture-in-Picture

When Auto Picture-in-Picture for YouTube is on, Strawberry moves a playing YouTube video into a floating mini player when you switch to another tab. Switching to a different window does not trigger it. To turn it off, go to strawberry://settings/theme -> Picture-in-Picture and switch off Auto Picture-in-Picture for YouTube. The setting is on by default and syncs across your devices.

Best practices

  • Use activity sidebar if you jump between many tabs and want recency to drive navigation.
  • Use Universal Search instead of scanning long tab lists.
  • Keep work-related tabs grouped by profile so companions and integrations stay scoped to the right context.
